Who else loves a good planning session? I love sitting down at the end of a week and planning out the next. Brainstorming all my to dos, meal plan and so on. It was so much fun creating a planner freebie a couple weeks ago and thought I would share how I am using it. Creating a planner that I love using and hoping it would serve you just the same! So follow along and plan with me to see how I use my planner!
My Planning Goodies
Planning each week is a fun creative outlet for myself. I break out all my markers, stickers, stamps, etc and get to planning. Each week and day always looks different, a lot of the times it’s based on the time I have to sit down and plan out my week or day. So I thought I would share links to some of my favorite planning tools that I use consistently each week!

This weeks plan
I start my weekly plan by brainstorming meal ideas. For me this makes most sense for my routine so I can figure out how long grocery shopping will take me.
We do not cook every night, hence the two planned leftover days… This gives us wiggle room in case we over cook or we want to go out to dinner. Then it’s on to the weekly overview. For me I like to see my week as a layout and then I like to have individual day layouts so I can focus on each day as it comes. I layout dinner for the nights and then fill in my calendar as I know it on Sunday.
Planning out my day
On Sunday’s I begin planning my Monday to do’s and schedule. Then Monday morning after I have diffusers started, coffee brewing and morning chores completed, I work on my day’s schedule and to dos more. Since I am a creative business owner I like to make sure I am working on things that, yes, need to be done but that I am also excited to work on for the day. I have found that on days that I force myself to work on a task that isn’t “priority” and I am not excited about that those days are the most unproductive. Has this happened to you?
Then on the next page I like to assign the boxes for what I am feeling. As of lately, I have enjoyed having the largest box on the right page be a “braindump” section. A place for me to jot down all my ideas and projects I want to accomplish. I have been trying to be more mindful of tracking what I eat in a day, what I do for a workout and how much water I drink.
Often times I use the empty box for either “what needs to carried over” to the next day to dos or as a “grattitude” box. At the end of my work day I will reflect on my day and write down a few things I am proud of or grateful for. Being more mindful of ending my day from a position of gratitude and accomplishment helps set me on the right foot for planning the next day.
